Who is responsible

The short version
- The app works on your phone first. Without an account, your records stay on your device.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling of data.
- If you turn on backup, your data is stored on servers and private storage in the EU.
- You can export or delete everything from inside the app.
What we process
- On your device: properties, cases, photos, documents, notes and costs you add. We do not receive them unless you turn on backup.
- With an account (Sign in with Apple): an account identifier, and the email or private relay address Apple provides if you share it.
- With backup on: your property and case data, files, their sizes and SHA‑256 hashes, sync status, and an audit log of sharing actions.
- Purchases: App Store handles payment. We receive confirmation of what you own, not your payment details.
- Diagnostics: crash and error reports through Sentry, EU region, with personal data and content scrubbed.
- Location: the app does not ask for your location. Photos you import may carry a place in their metadata, as on any phone.
This website
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
Where data is kept
Our servers run in the EU. Files are kept in private storage in the EU. Our processors include Hetzner (hosting), Cloudflare (storage and website), Sentry (error reports), Apple (sign in and purchases), Resend (account emails) and Google (support email, Gmail).
Why we may process it
To provide the app you asked for (contract), to keep it secure and working (legitimate interest), and with your consent where required.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it. Delete your account in the app and we remove your data from our database and storage, and revoke the Apple sign-in token. Encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. Files created for sharing are deleted after 24 hours. If a Starter account has been inactive for 24 months, we delete its cloud data after emailing you 30 days in advance; data on your phone is not affected.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask for access, correction, export, deletion or restriction of your data, and object to processing. Most of this is available in the app. For anything else write to support@dwellcase.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
DwellCase is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way we will update the date above and, where needed, tell you in the app.
